First Things First (3/5/13)

Hey, look, it's time for my favorite linkup of the week! (I say that about every linkup...) Lots of high school memories are popping up in this post and I have an announcement at the end!

1) First thing I reach for in the fridge
Well, look at my fridge. What would you go for?

The wine, obviously! Look how much is left! Gotta take care of that.

2) First car accident or traffic violation
My first and only (I think) accident wasn't very major but it happened in front of my old high school as everyone was dropping off students. Pretty high profile, right? Not fun. I was driving straight down the road and a truck came off of a road to my left and tried to get in my lane. I don't know if he was trying to get in front of me or behind me but he definitely slammed right into the rear driver's side of my car. Everyone was OK but my door was done for. I had a new one put on but it never felt quite the same.

3) First BIG accomplishment I'm proud of
I'm going to be boring for this one and say graduating high school would be my first. It wasn't necessarily a difficult thing for me to do but it sure felt incredible!

the cap & gown picture
I look extremely tired or something. Also, I do not remember having color in my hair so I'm not sure what's going on with those streaks. Maybe I've just blocked it all from my memory. Oh, high school. Oh, cheap flat iron. Sigh.

Let's peruse some other gems located in my Facebook album titled "Senior year", shall we?

someone's birthday party?

In the above picture, I'm the one wearing an orange jacket. Guess which one of these people is now my husband and looks 300% different than he did seven years ago? Creepy. Love you, husband.

A prom picture is a must. First Things First has taken us back to our first prom/dance (actually that's the only FTF I didn't participate in, but I did post a prom pic!), but I've never shown you my senior year prom!

if you hadn't noticed, no one ever taught me how to fix the mop on top of my head

Senior year prom was the best. We ditched early, went to Sonic for ice cream then had a co-ed sleepover (gasp!) where we made pancakes and did karaoke. We were too cool.

Alright, let's stop reminiscing about high school before I make myself sick.

What are your answers to this week's questions? Head over to Penguins, Pasta & Polka Dots or City Sequins or The Sunshine Diary to link up and see other people's firsts.

Also, tune in next week, when yours truly will be co-hosting First Things First with Penguins, Pasta & Polka Dots and Tales of a Twenty Something! This will be my first time co-hosting anything and I'd love to see your faces.

Next week's firsts: first real piece of jewelry you owned, first magazine subscription, and first time staying home alone.

T minus six hours until hump day! G'night. :)

I had the same experience. My first car accident was in front of my high school, but my bumper's the one that's totally wrecked. Like you, it was the other driver who's at fault. It didn't traumatize me in any way. But the damage to my car, which was my first and favorite, will be forever in my mind! So what did you do to the driver that caused the accident?
