My kitchen is STILL full of leftovers from our moms & aunts -- turkey, ham, cookies (oh, God, the cookies...), dips, cheeses, chicken... It's pretty ridiculous! I'm not even sure most of it is still edible by now. Is it? I shudder.
The only new food I've made since was New Year's dinner. But now I've got loads of that left, too! Ham (again), black eyed peas, collards, cornbread. I'm totally not complaining about that, though. New Year's dinner is my favorite holiday dinner! I'd like to think I'm getting better at cooking it myself but I still miss having my mom's homecooked.
As convenient as it is to have food prepared & ready to heat, I'm really looking forward to some non-holiday related food. Maybe we'll do tacos next, or soup! CHINESE!
I love the holidays and all but I'm ready for things to take a turn away from the traditional for a while. :)
How's everyone getting along post-holiday times?
